It’s the weekly recap that we publish on weeks we feel like it. This, our first since August, shows how we (I) pushed the wrong button and completely sabotaged our holiday plan. It also shows off one of the nicer spots in economy and food-for-purchase aboard American Airlines new A321T and we unBOX one of those cute Rimowa hardside amenity kits from EVA Air.
We’ve had a hard time finding the original press release from Austrian Airlines but have a feeling it might say something about this amenity kit case being made from recycled tires and fiberglass insulation. Whatever it’s made of, we’re fairly happy with what the kit has to offer in the most basic sense. Now, here’s your shot at a small taste of Austrian Business Class with this in-flight comfort kit. As always it’s only gently handled as seen in our unBOX feature.
It’s arguable that vacation rentals are an upgrade from hotel living, but if you find the right one there’s not much that will get you closer to feeling like a local. That was our goal when booking a long weekend home in Venice Italy. A bit of research told us that this part of the Dorsoduro neighborhood near Ca’ Foscari University was less overrun by (but not without) tourism so this Homeaway rental listed as “Cozy San Basilio” seemed like the perfect spot.
It took a little over a month to decide which pictures were worthy of a modhop gallery (the bar is pretty low). In our search we found a few pics from our visit to last month’s (March 2014) New York Times Travel Show that we can make useful by adding helpful links to video reviews, resources that can assist in picking the right airline and a few random snaps just to prove we were there.
