Now that i’ve watched the video a few times and have have gotten over that I’m subjecting you to several seconds of crinkly noises from the content’s outer wrapping, I’m even more disappointed with the kit itself. Sure I can use the casing as tupperware for oddly shaped foods, but the contents are decidedly cheap and fit for premium economy, not the international business traveler.
It’s not enough to have a cool logo to put on your eyemask. I’m a big fan of the classic Lufthansa brand but it’s vintage wings don’t help this eymask not suck. A half hearted attempt at a nose flap to keep the light out is (I think) there to keep the light out but did little for my recent daytime flight where sleep would have been nice. Flimsy, sheer, worthless.
Soffttks (soft socks). Don’t wear them inside out. It’s the soft insides of that make these otherwise typical mid-air foot protectors so cozy. Sure they’re not plush slippers but they do keep your toes warm and plane filth from touching your own socks.
Works, but just not fancy enough. I truly think the Nivea hand creme will keep your hands from becoming sandpaper but with competing airlines serving up amenities from Korrs, L’Occitane and other high-end brands, I’m not sure how drug store quality hand cream is going to wow the middle class high-end guest.
Enough toothpase! It’s not a brand I recognized, but the small tube of toothpaste that comes with the kit wasn’t SO small that I’d have to ration it for the long-haul. Plus I”m convinced it made my teeth a quarter shade whiter (I can’t prove this and it was likely just the jetlag, but it at least did a good job).
But look at our seats! Lufthansa clearly wants to push your attention toward their lie-flat seats in business and not little extras like amenity kits and I naturally agree that the seat is far more important. If you want luxurious touches though, load up a small bag of lilac scented hand wipes and a sturdy eymask and bring it along.
