You just need to make sure to consider all the different factors here that can have an impact on your overall plans. Here are some that are good to think about while mapping out your next trip. What’s The Money Situation? One of the first things you need to be working out is how much money you are able to save for your long-awaited trip away. Without a budget, you won’t know where you are […]
The JAL First Class amenity kit comes in 2 versions depending on whether you’re on a long-haul flight to or from Japan. Today Jake unBOXes the inbound version. (*Ignore the graphic that says “Courtesy KLM” at 2:48.) Whaaat?! 4 layers deep (inside plastic wrapping, inside a plastic container, inside a bag within a bag) are a pair of 3M earplugs. These are as good as we’ve used from a kit on a plane but you might do better with a higher decibel-rated earplug from the likes of Macks, Heros, Moldex and others typically available at your local drug store. We love a good “Fifth Freedom” route and this one is now one of our favorites. We sampled Garuda Indonesia Business Class between Amsterdam and London and while short, the flight was pretty sweet…
*This lounge is in Terminal 4 at LHR, not Terminal 3 as indicated in our video review. Lounge: SkyTeam Alliance Lounge Where: London Heathrow Terminal 4 Seating: If the front desk hadn’t pointed out that a full English breakfast was offered on the upper level of this SkyTeam Alliance Lounge at London Heathrow, we would have walked right by the stairs. Luckily we marched right up and found more good seating than on the near carbon copy lower floor. On both levels you’ll find loaf-style loungers along the window and assorted seating elsewhere from cafe to retro in both wide open and more secluded […]

United Airlines United Airlines offers its exclusive passengers an array of luxurious products to accentuate your in-flight experience. The kit includes Murad lip balm, lotion and facial moisturizer as well as standard items like socks, earplugs, and teeth cleaning products. […]
It seems perfect that our beloved #modhopMonday lands on the final day of 2012. It gives us an excuse to blab about the best stuff we stumbled upon or saw happening from afar when it comes to upgrading your travel experience. One or two things are new and a few are things we’re just getting around to.
Airline/Club Name: Wingtips Lounge (formerly Oasis Lounge) Location: New York Kennedy (JFK) Terminal/Concourse: Terminal 4 – Landside. Beyond check-in area (same level) to the left. Notes: The Wingtips Lounge is a reasonably large club with amenities beyond that of a US domestic lounge, largely because most flights from Terminal 4 are international departures. Different types of seating are available from deep leather seats, to the family kitchen style area shown in the accompanying video(s). In 2 of 3 daytime visits this lounge hasn’t been too crowded, but as you’d expect, it can get busy with flight delays or evenings when […]
