Slowly, I’m working on a special piece called “Totally Unremarkable Hotel Rooms” and The Marriott SFO Waterfront Hotel currently makes the cut. We dig into the hotels most basic offering in this video from our YouTube Channel.
The Room: This, the hotels most basic room comes set up with either 2 double or one king bed with middle of the road linens. The bed itself is comfortable enough for a night or two before hopping on another flight. Business will get done in the meantime thanks to a standard sized desk and Audio/Video connections to your 32″ flat-panel TV.
Washroom: You’ll find good counterspace, perhaps more than you’ll need. If you don’t use it all, it’s a good spot to throw towels after cleaning up in the shower/tub combo.
Amenities: A handful of steal-worthy Bath and Bodyworks amenities are there for your use (or just for the taking if you brought your own).
Service: Check-in was quick and surprisingly friendly. This is a hotel well oiled for the fast check-in and check-out of business travelers.
Wi-fi/Connectivity: Wi-fi is is available for a charge at 2 speed levels. One level gives you reasonable basic web-surfing and e-mail capabilities, the other gives you the speed needed for streaming video and other, more bandwidth hungry surfing.
Overall: If the price is right and you need a room by the airport it doesn’t get much more basic than this. A room at the Marriott SFO Airport Waterfront offers clean rooms, good in-house restaurant and bar options, friendly service and convenience to the airport using their complimentary shuttle.
