Summary:

Airline: Cathay Pacific
Aircraft: 777-300
Seat maps: SeatGuru
Seat Info: Seat 1K
Class: First

Seat(s): An updated version of the seat we sampled aboard a Cathay 747-400 not long before, this ultra-wide, lie-flat sleeper is a good one. You’ll get a kings share of elbow and legroom while upright and plenty of stretch space when you’re down for a royal nap.

Cathay Pacific First Class
Been working out? There’s room for that extra girth in this wide, Cathay Pacific first class seat.

Tech/Connectivity/Entertainment: Studio CX gives you a nice variety of movies and global TV along with a robust game and music selection.

One power outlet is built into your side console about an arm’s-length away…if you’re leaning forward a bit.

Food: It’s another flight we wish had been longer so that we could try everything on the dinner and snack menus. Our meal selections were top-notch, from dinnertime pan-seared sea bass to organic scrambled eggs for breakfast.

Cathay Pacific First Class - Caviar course
First class snack box. – Caviar and champagne course.

Service: This crew was all smiles and doling out personalized service like it was easy. Our flight attendant was the Eddie Van Halen of in-flight hospitality with timely check-ins and speedy delivery of coffee.

Rating: 5 hops (of 5).

Route Flown for this review: Hong Kong (HKG) – Los Angeles (LAX)

How we got em’: This was a big sliver of a OneWorld award itinerary using US Airways Dividend Miles. The gang at PointsPros found a great  all-first class trip using a handful of  miles to North Asia (via Europe).

Bonus! Well, just some extra footage, really. See inside the fancier-than-in-the-back First Class washroom and experience a shaky liftoff from seat 1K…

How long was the flight? And how many miles did you expend for this trip? What was the routing again–for everything?
