Seat(s): We’ve heard of worse than a 2-2-2 configuration in Business Class aboard a 767 so while not great, seat width is at least average. The center console design helps by being slim without sacrificing space for your phone or any number of tiny booze bottles thanks to a pull up/out tray table and flip-out drink trays.
Legroom is as good as it gets with plenty of room to stretch in the bulkhead and all seats behind it (in business). All that room is necessary to get your seat into bed-mode that’s what we’ll call “mostly flat”. You’ll be horizontal enough to get a good nap in on long hauls or maybe just a cat nap if it’s just a quick trip like ours.

Tech/Connectivity/Entertainment: Each seat gets a power port that’s in a tricky spot to reach if you’re sitting upright but in a good place to keep messy cords out of the way. The port is right behind your hip hidden between the console and seat cushion.
TAM Airlines Business Class (which will soon be called LATAM Airlines Business Class by the end of 2018) comes with the same batch of movies and TV selections you’ll get in economy but on a larger screen. You can unstrap and use the touchscreen mounted to the bulkhead wall (or seatback) or just use the standard wired remote lodged in the console. The selection of movie and tv programming didn’t get us all that excited but there was enough to keep us busy for our sub 2 hour hop.
Food: If you’re flying TAM Airlines Business Class on the 5th Freedom hop between New York and Toronto, you’ll get something like the dual tiny sandwiches that we did. On longer flights you’ll get a selection of entrees and will likely have the option of the Brazilian Beef Fillet, a top 14 favorite of the crew at Condé Nast.
Our sandwiches were decent snacks and significantly better than what you’ll get on most flights this short.
Service: I’ve heard more than one ‘worst flight ever’ stories about flying in TAM Airlines Business Class but none of that awfulness surfaced here. Sure, it was a short trip but we found the crew to be a nice bunch of folks with friendly smiles who seemed to know how to balance that friendly with professional. If less than stellar service had been the carriers norm, hopefully this is a sign of happy change as the airline (combining with LAN) slowly transitions to LATAM Airlines.

How we got em’: TAM Airlines operates this quick jump that seems to have plenty of competition, keeping fares in business class fairly reasonable. It’s maybe not their best use but we booked using British Airways Avios Miles while redemption rates were still 9,000 Avios each way (increasing(ed) in 2016).
