Video | LOT Polish Airlines 787 – Business Class Row 2

Seat(s): Upon walking into this intimate 3 row cabin in LOT Polish Airlines Elite Club Business Class, I recall looking at my seat and thinking (perhaps out loud) “Well that doesn’t look very fancy”. It doesn’t. But sit down and you quickly begin to realize that all the standard business class perks are there and best of all, you’ve got plenty of room. Width makes an extraordinary difference in flat-bed mode giving you as much as 3-4 extra inches to toss and turn over a more typical international business class seat. Your feet get tons of freedom too. What looks like a simple bench under your TV is an unrestricted space for you to stretch out into while competitors would have you stuffing your toes into a tiny crawl space. The bummer here is that window-seaters don’t get direct aisle access, so you’ll have to do the awkward “climb over the snoring businessman” routine.

Tech/Connectivity/Entertainment: Our love of the North American sitcom isn’t shared by whatever target audience LOT Polish is going for. Several unrecognizable programs that I can only assume were basic cable flops and single episodes of Family Guy and Modern Family were  on offer. They’re clearly big on Family related stuff. You’ve got standard multi-nation and USB power ports in a fairly convenient spot in the cutout underneath your armrest. Wi-fi? No. But you’ve got extra large windows to stare out of!

Food: I’m not sure why, but I didn’t have high expcatations for the meal service. I should have.  From flavor to presentation LOT Polish delivered from our appetizer crab salad to our pancetta-wrapped turkey main course, this was one of the better meals I’ve had in the sky.

Service: This is like working in a brand new office for the LOT Polish crew so spirits were high and service was well above average in regards to attentiveness and attitude. Everything on-board was well taken care of and flight attendants seemed genuinely happy to help.

How we got em’: This was a large sliver of a Star Alliance award itinerary using US Airways Dividend Miles. The gang at PointsPros found a great  all-business class trip using just a handful of  miles to Asia (via Europe). Note: US Airways is no longer in the Star Alliance but as part of it’s merger with American Airlines is now a part of OneWorld.
