No direct affiliation with credit card companies means we don’t often feel the need to talk about their products…unless a benefit stands out. Access to the Sheraton Grand Chicago Club Lounge recently came free thanks to my Business Starwood Preferred Guest Amex. This is a perk I love. In fact, the card gives you access to all Sheraton Club Lounge locations worldwide, regardless of what room you’re in.

Room to Move
Seating inside the Sheraton Grand Chicago club lounge is simply great. Evenly spaced spots for eating, working and relaxing are nicely arranged. Smaller areas are sectioned off with couches and large TV’s for casual snacking while catching up on cable news or sports. Areas suited for larger groups like families are well placed in the center near food. There’s even a second level with a business center and more seating for busy times.
Club Lounge Eats
You’ll be happy with the morning spread inside the Sheraton Grand Chicago Club Lounge if continental breakfast will do. Much like the standard fare at most airport lounges run by US Airlines domestically, you’ll find bagels, granola and fruit. If you want something hot there’s just oatmeal…and toast if that counts.
I was on assignment at Lollapalooza at nearby Grant Park all day so I missed afternoon hors d’oeuvres. Premium drinks and light eats are offered at this time to anyone with club lounge access. Light snacks and drinks are found here 24 hours.

Connect + Chill.
The Sheraton Grand Chicago club lounge is a great place to connect and get work done when it’s not packed with breakfasteers or afternoon snackers. The solid wi-fi and reasonably situated workspaces allow you to sink into your project or just let you surf in peace. Our favorite spots are upstairs where you’ll also find a complete business center and conference seating. Here, you’ll also find web-connected PCs so you don’t need to lug your own gear to the lounge.

Awesome Freebie. Should you pay?
Club Rooms rarely come with much more than the benefit of being on a higher floor and lounge entry. So if you’ve got separate access with the Business SPG Amex (the benefit isn’t offered with the personal SPG card), this is a fantastic perk. If you’re thinking about buying-up to a club room you may want to consider how much you’ll actually use the club lounge…or if you’ll want more than just a continental breakfast and afternoon snacks.
