Wearing comfortable clothes while traveling can help melt away stress and just make you more relaxed while on the go or at your destination. Moreover, comfy threads are more practical for navigating different activities and climates, making it easier to pack and move around with your luggage. Not to mention, comfortable clothes can help you blend in better with your surroundings. Here are a few clothing tips to help ensure that your trip is as comfortable as possible.

  1. Consider the destination and activities

It may seem obvious but when planning your trip wardrobe, think about where you’re going. For instance, if you’re going to a tropical destination, pack lightweight, breathable clothing and consider bringing a sunhat and sunglasses (don’t forget sunblock!). If you’re going somewhere cold, pack warm layers and a coat. As a tip, dress in layers. This lets you easily adjust to changes in temperature, whether on a plane or exploring a new city. It may be challenging to iron clothes when you’re on the go, so avoid options that wrinkle easily. Synthetic fabrics like polyester and nylon are less likely to wrinkle than natural fibers like cotton and linen. You also want to consider the activities you’ll be doing on your trip. If you go hiking or do outdoor activities, bring clothing and shoes suitable for those activities.

  1. Prioritize versatility

Versatile attire prevents the stress of bringing many things that may make your luggage heavier. As a tip, bring a versatile jacket or sweater that can be dressed up or down on your trip. A denim or leather jacket is a good option, as it can be worn with various outfits. While you’re at it, pack a versatile dress worn with various outfits, accessories, or a denim jacket. Scarves and sarongs are also ideal, as they take up minimal space in your luggage and can be used in various ways.

  1. Invest in comfortable undergarments and loungewear

For some it’s PJ’s on the plane for comfort. For Jake? Button down shirt and a good pair of jeans. (A big seat on the plane helps.)

What you wear underneath everything is essential to your overall attire, so investing in comfortable options is prudent. Experts advise choosing underwear made from fabrics that wick away sweat and moisture. This helps you keep you feeling dry and comfortable throughout the day. Also, opt for seamless styles to prevent chafing and discomfort, especially when sitting on a plane or train for long periods. Make sure it all fits properly, especially if you’re shopping for new options. However, comfortable undergarments don’t have to be boring. For instance, you can shop for cute bras here, as they also promote comfort.

A comfortable pair of pajamas will help you get a good night’s sleep, especially if you’re staying in a hotel or hostel. Consider bringing a pair of pajama pants and a t-shirt that can double as loungewear during the day. Also, pack a pair of comfortable socks, especially if your feet will do a lot of walking on your trip. You also want to bring a few extra pairs if your socks get wet or dirty.

You can make your trip as comfortable as possible with these tips. Remember to pack essentials like a toiletry bag, a first aid kit, and a travel adapter for your electronic devices.
