The Room: The decor isn’t exactly our style but this Executive King room at Marriott Hong Kong SkyCity comes with a decent amount of room, a comfortably firm pillow-topped king sized bed and plenty of space for work and relaxing between flights.
Washroom: For it’s small size it’s a relatively luxurious washroom decked with a rainfall shower and premium amenities from Thai outfit Thann.
Amenities: Thann amenites extend from the shower to the sink and even into the toiletries box (The shower cap?). We’re fans of the woodsy vibe of these steal-worthy goods.
Minibar: The minibar isn’t extensive, but lucky you. You get to just slide on into the executive lounge for complimentary snacks and non-boozy drinks when you want to. If you’ve just gotta have a drink, let the pros downstairs mix it for you and have room service bring it up.
Service: Service levels were hard to measure as we were guests of the hotel this time. Based on what we observed Executive Level guests seem to benefit from the upgrade. This alone might be reason to go Executive.
Wi-fi/Connectivity: Wifi worked well in our room and built-in connectivity options were easy to access from the desk area.
Overall: We maintain that this appears to be the place to stay near Hong Kong International (HKG) if you’re in between flights or attending an event at the neighboring Asia World Expo. With it’s light breakfast and daily hors devours options, lounge access is a big winner here so moving to executive level is a Modhop-worthy upgrade.
How’d we book? This was a special invitation extended by Marriott Hong Kong SkyCity but we reccomend booking directly with the hotel when possible.
Tagged as: hkg hotels, hong kong airport, marriott hong kong sky city, marrott hotels.
