How to pay lots to fly Singapore Suites for Free

Jake Redman July 18, 2016

Singapore Suites Have Eluded me I try to be a decent guy but admit that I can be a little selfish…at least when it comes to air travel. For example, just a few years ago I was in a situation where it was in my best interest to put off flying Singapore Suites even though I had the points to do it. Instead of transferring Chase Ultimate reward points to my Singapore Airlines Krisflyer account, I used them to put up a visiting relative in-law at a nearby hotel. I did it because it was a nice thing to do, but was secretly bummed […]

Amenity Kits

3 unBOXings of Delta Amenities… 2 are now obsolete.

Jake Redman July 11, 2016

Delta Amenities on transcon and international flights get a refreshed linuep of contents soon. Inside your tiny Tumi bags you’ll find Kiehl’s apothecary goodies, replacing Malin + Goetz mini amenities that were part of the previous lineup. It’s long overdue, but here’s our unBOX of THAT version of the kit along with our unBOX of Delta One pajamas offered on select routes. Listen beyond the cheesy corporate-techno soundtrack to hear my kid screaming and dishes being done. #audiobonus The Softer Side: Ours is a soft-side version of the now older kit. Regardless, the contents are nearly the same save the upcoming replacement of […]

23 Seconds of a United 757 in a Snowstorm.

Jake Redman June 27, 2016

So, We’ve completely run out of video. Except for this: My 5:30am flight to Chicago from Newark got off without a hitch. It was one of few to leave that morning. I had switched to the earliest possible in order to keep a round the world itinerary in-tact. We’ll be back in the air soon! Until then, check out all our seat upgrades and airport lounge reviews!

Airline Seats

A Nice Boost From Our Delta One Seats | Video

Jake Redman June 13, 2016

Airline: Delta Aircraft: 767-300ER (76G) Seat maps:  Not Available Seat Info: 6D Class: Delta One (Transcon) Business Class The Right Delta One Seats. The seats here look nice but normally, I’d choose one that’s got better separation from the aisle. The reasons are fairly simple: I like staring out of the window and I have personal space issues. Aboard the 767-300 though, I prefer the opposite…at least if I want to sleep. The console for this seat is big and when on the aisle, leaves very little room to get in and out. Worse, it creates (and I can’t believe I’m saying it) TOO MUCH separation from the […]

Meeting Polaris. New United Business Class, Part 3: Food, Service + Amenities.

Jake Redman June 6, 2016

Polaris- The new United Business Class: Part 1: The Seats Part 2: The Lounge Part 3: Menus, Service + Amenities We’ve seen the new seats and peeked at the new lounges, but what about the “Polaris” by United business class menu, service and amenities? In our final of three installments we explore what extras come with the seat and what’s to eat on-board. Fifth Avenue Meets 5A. The hub-city partnerships continue…sort of. Saks Fifth Avenue doesn’t have a location in Newark but it certainly does in New York. The fanciful department store teamed with United on new bedding for Polaris Business Class service that […]

Meeting Polaris. New United Business Class, Part 2: The Lounge.

Jake Redman June 4, 2016

Polaris- The new United Business Class: Part 1: The Seats Part 2: The Lounge Part 3: Menus, Service + Amenities (June 6) We’re giddy to see there will be an exclusive United Airlines Business Class lounge for intercontinental flights. The new “Polaris” lounge will surface first at Chicago O’Hare along with the start of Polaris seating and on-board service in December 2016. Will the new exclusive-to-business class customers lounge experience live up to what’s offered by international competitors? Here’s what United promises…   A “Full Buffet”? Really?! Dining looks promising inside the Polaris Lounge. The promise of a full buffet sounds too good to […]

Meeting Polaris. New United Business Class, Part 1: The Seat.

Jake Redman June 2, 2016

Polaris- The new United Business Class: Part 1: The Seats Part 2: The Lounge Part 3: Menus, Service + Amenities (June 6) New international United Business Class seats were introduced this week at an event in New York. The big news is that we’ll start to see the new “Polaris” seats beginning December 1, 2016 with many more showing up in 2017 and beyond. We’re told the new Polaris suites are competitive in size with current United First Class (Global First) seating and appear to be a significant improvement over the airlines current intercontinental business class. Is it About More Than the Seats? The entire long-haul experience is […]

Airport Zen

Find Zen now Without a Stupid Hong Kong Airport Map : Video

Jake Redman May 30, 2016

Domestic Zen FREE Hong Kong Airport Maps! HKG Official Facilities Map (pdf) HKG Official Shopping/Dining (pdf) Maps of places like malls and government buildings can be frustrating to say the least, but don’t come close to comparing to most airport maps. Online interactive maps are supposed to simplify things but aren’t always easy to navigate and often hard to pull up on your phone when you’re just trying to find somewhere to escape terminal madness. On a recent visit to HKG, we threw our maps away and wandered into domestic terminal 2 to see if we could find some peace. We did. Enjoy airport zen in our video […]
