Video Evidence that Spirit Airlines Flights Aren’t Always Total Hell.

Jake Redman April 4, 2016

Airline: Spirit Airlines Aircraft: A321 Seat maps:   See Screenshot Below Our Seat(s): 1D Class: Spirit Airlines Big Front Seat Among the fancy-travel crowd there are many that would take the bus as soon as they’d hop aboard a Spirit Airlines flight. For the most part we’re right there with them but with an occasional incentive, we’re lured back to the coin-chugging, fee-happy airline. These rare occasions when a ultra -low fare is offered and a quick turnaround will allow us to travel without a bag. This time? A $35 one-way from New York to Fort Lauderdale. That Big Front Seat. Aboard this A321, you’ve got […]

These Airline April Fools Day Jokes Will Make Your Day

Jake Redman April 1, 2016

Some airlines are just good at playing along. Some poke fun at fake advancements in passenger experience and some harness starpower within their brand. Here are the travel related April fool videos we like the best so far for 2016. Virgin America – New Logo Virgin America goes a little over the top with their Zoolander-esque “N_Fuzion”-designed new logo that looks like…well, you decide.   Virgin Australia – Kids Class Virgin Australia gets cute AND funny with “Kids class”, a much kid-friendlier cabin than WestJet’s short lived “Kargo-Kids“. The custom built seats for “kickers” are hilarious and “bubbles on-demand” should be […]

Centurion Rules! How This American Express Lounge at LGA Wins. | Video

Jake Redman March 28, 2016

Lounge: American Express Centurion Lounge Where: New York (LGA) – Central Terminal Seats are cozy and look cool. There’s more than just a variety of standard lounge chairs here. With the added comfort of a wide leather seat comes the hip-factor that most lounges at New York LaGuardia lack. Even the semi-recent upgrades to Delta SkyClubs don’t quite match up. It’s an Ikea vs. Design Within Reach sort of thing…this just feels like a higher-end lounge. Broken into two rooms both that offer work-bar seating that face outside but are otherwise quite different. The room closest to the front desk offers a mix […]

5 Things to Know Before Flying Cathay Pacific Business Class | Video

Jake Redman March 21, 2016

Airline: Cathay Pacific Aircraft: 777-300 Seat maps:  Cathay Pacific | SeatGuru Our Seat(s): 25K Class: Cathay Pacific Business Class Reverse Herringbone is Your Pal. These seats aren’t as big and wide as what’s found in the airlines ultra-luxurious First Class suite but as you just watched in the video half of our Cathay Pacific Business Class review, it’s still a better than average ride. Width is just a little better than average for hips but the cutout for storage near the floor adds space for the knees when sleeping and added cushioning between the seat and armrest give you more room to move around. You get plenty space for […]

5 Pictures That Might Make you sad About Your Economy Seat

Jake Redman March 9, 2016

It’s Premium Economy Singapore Airlines introduced it’s Premium Economy Seats in 2015 and they’ve finally made their way to some flights departing the US. As we post this (March 9, 2016) there’s an enticing sale on Premium Economy seats on dates that the airline flies newly re-configured A380 aircraft from New York JFK airport (Be aware that some dates don’t offer the new seats as there are some planes still without Premium Economy.) Is This Just a Singapore Airlines Economy Seat With Legroom? Not at all. The upgrade from the further-back Singapore Airlines economy seats is at least impressive to look […]

Find the “+” in These A319 Delta Comfort Seats | Video

Jake Redman March 7, 2016

Airline: Delta Aircraft: A319 | Type 2 – All Economy Seat info:  Delta | SeatGuru Our Seat(s): 12D – 12E – 12F Class: Economy “Comfort+” In the seat? Not really. Delta Comfort seats are economy seats, no different than what’s behind them. There’s fancy “Comfort+” stitching in the leather and a couple of inches more room for your legs. Where the actual seat is concerned, that’s all the “+” we could find. If you thought that you could recline a little more in your Delta Comfort seat, that’s not the case on this A319. Extra recline is only a promise in Comfort+ on long-haul flights and these smaller […]
